# Get a thread

> Owners can always read their threads. `public` and `unlisted` threads can be read by anyone, without a token, while public sharing is enabled.

<Note>
  Shared threads (`public` or `unlisted`) can be read **without** a token while public sharing is on. Check with [`GET /api/settings/feature-flag/public_sharing`](/api-reference/utilities/feature-flags).
